August 4, 2004—Purvin & Gertz, Inc. in association with Levelton Consultants Ltd., was contracted to review and assess the changes in the Canadian refining industry to meet the low sulphur fuel requirements, the potential economic impact on the industry, the resulting greenhouse gas emissions expected from the industry and as a result of the low sulphur fuel investments. Sponsors of the study include the Canadian Petroleum Products Institute, Natural Resources Canada, Environment Canada, and Industry Canada.
