About the Industry

Refining, Marketing & Distribution

Canadian Refineries
Refining takes crude oil and transforms it into the petroleum products used to fuel and lubricate vehicles, heat homes and pave roads. Canada is home to 18 refineries, 16 of which are operated by CPPI members and represent the majority of the country’s refining capacity. Canada is a net exporter, mainly to the United States, of refined petroleum products and crude oil.
