In 2006, Natural Resources Canada established the Office of Petroleum Price Information (OPPI), whose mandate is to provide Canadians information about petroleum prices and products. OPPI publishes Fuel Focus, a biweekly report featuring a national analysis of petroleum product prices, trends and factors influencing the Canadian market.
