The Canadian Petroleum Products Institute is committed to environmental protection through its Environment, Health & Safety Guiding Principles. Under these principles, CPPI works with stakeholders and governments to establish protection measures for the environment and the health of employees, customers, and the public.

CPPI’s Environmental Protection Hierarchy
This hierarchical approach to environmental protection creates solutions that protect the environment and human health while continuing to meet business objectives.

CPPI and its members also participate in recycling. Programs have been developed that collect and dispose of approximately 50 percent of all used oil.
